The Secret Annexe
The secret Annexe is a clown show dedicated to all those who, because of war, are forced to flee their homeland.
The protagonist is a young woman escaping a conflict that has taken her home, her family, and all certainty. On her journey, she carries with her precious belongings, among them a portrait of her mother. She speaks to this face constantly, confiding words, memories, and silences. A living root that accompanies her in the solitude of exile.
In a small annex, an empty and anonymous space, the woman survives through creativity, imagination, and hope. In this suspended place, time loses its consistency, dilates, and distorts, as in a dreamlike landscape inspired by Dalí, a liquefied time in which past and present coexist, and memory becomes an act of resistance.
The story is not set in a specific time or place, as it refers to all times and all places where war continues to exist. Through the universal language of clowning, the show addresses profoundly relevant themes such as discrimination, racism, loneliness, and loss.
The poetic mask of the clown allows us to experience even the most tragic events with the sweetness, fragility, and innocence of a child's gaze, offering the audience an intimate and collective reflection. L'ALLOGGIO SEGRETO moves in a delicate balance between clowning and poetry, where smiles and emotion become instruments of memory, empathy, and humanity.
